Biography. ALVARO CARLIER.
I have been based in Madrid since 2012, although I am originally from El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz). For more than 10 years, I have worked as a music photographer and filmmaker, capturing the energy of live music and the most intense emotions of life’s greatest moments. Based in Madrid, I have worked at some of Spain’s most important festivals and concert venues, documenting performances by both national and international artists.
I work as a concert photographer, both in venues and at festivals, I carry out photo sessions, photographic reports in recording studios; and, as a filmmaker, I produce videos for social media and live videoclips. My goal is to convey not only the power of each live show, but also the unique connection between artists and their audience.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to cover events such as Resurrection Fest and work with bands like Celtibeerian, Ars Amandi, Void’s Legion, Cockoroch, Avulsed, Dawn Of Extinction, Snakeyes, Arendel, Alien Rockin’ Explosion, Greengoat, Invicti, Mind Traveller, Hiagen, and Argi.
My photographs have been published in Metal Hammer, Mariskal Rock, La Heavy, and Territorio Music, among others. I’m known for quick delivery, discretion while working, and a visual style that blends the power of stage lighting with cinematic storytelling.
Throughout my career as a music photographer, I have had the opportunity to photograph some of the most renowned international bands and artists while accredited through various media outlets. Among them are Scorpions, Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Rammstein, Korn, Parkway Drive, Simple Plan, Michael Schenker, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Corey Taylor, Sum 41, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Machine Head, Arch Enemy, Papa Roach, Behemoth, P.O.D., The Rasmus, Nonpoint, Lacuna Coil, Lamb Of God, Jinjer, Bring Me The Horizon, Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Blink-182, Evanescence, Sabaton, and Motionless In White, among hundreds of internationally renowned artists and bands. Every concert presents a new challenge to capture the energy, personality, and intensity that make each live performance unique.
In addition, I’ve held several exhibitions to date and released my own photobook about a band, titled “Road Report: One Year With Ocelon.”
